So far I had good experience with this small to go place. Quick and easy to deal with. Would come again.

I understand that Orient Express is a place that has been around for about 29 years now so it's obvious that they have their loyal, local customers. With today's competition and particularly in Chinese food, this place is definitely not good and is a matter of fact overrated.
The place does always look dirty and unkept which says a lot. I question if they even properly store their food, use proper sanitation, etc. They claim they don't use MSG. Regardless, I don't trust the establishment. Don't expect much for customer service, it is what it is. Even if it was great or horrible customer service, their food lacks and the food is what I'm most concerned about.
I've tried all their sides and entrees and they are either dry, flavorless, oily af, or all of the above. Overall, nothing is tasty! I've eaten at multiple Chinese places and there are many better options out there.
The more I crave for FLAVORFUL food with QUALITY ingredients, the less I decide to spend my money at places like these. But if you like that kind of food: cheap, not nutritious, unhealthy and flavorless, then more power to ya. ;)
Peace out Orient Express! -

Food was great. Customer service is okay too. Its a small to-go place for grab and go so I wasn't expecting anything. But anyways, it wasnt too bad and the entire process was quick and easy.

This place has great service! When the rice was running low for the customer in front of me, the employee said he would get the customer fresh rice from the back. As it came to my turn, my takeout was filled to the brim, just the way I like it. Overall, I felt very welcomed and the prices are reasonable. I got large takeout of just chow mein so I can't speak on behalf of all products, but I will definitely come back.
Only good for takeout. One table that people typically use to wait for their take-out items. -

Orient Express has been a San Ramon staple for almost 30-years, and they are known for providing fresh, authentic, and CHEAP Chinese takeout with massive portions.
They are located in a shopping plaza shared with Safeway. Parking is plentiful. Outside of the weekday lunch rush, Orient is usually never too busy, and if there is a line outside the door it moves quickly.
For $7.10 you can get their one-entree combo, which comes with chow mein or fried rice, and the choice of one of their entrees. Their two most popular entrees are the salt and pepper chicken and lemon chicken. My personal favorite is the salt and pepper chicken! It is super crunchy on the outside, and moist and juicy on the inside. The lemon chicken is also great, but sometimes the sauce can be a bit overpowering.
The portions here are massive. For $7.10 you will walk away with two-servings. You can also opt to get their mini-box, which comes with two small entrees and chow mein or fried rice for $6.85. This is enough for one-serving.
Orient is a straight take-out spot, so plan on taking to-go. In my experience I've always witnessed great customer service here. They are a family business and commonly reference customers by name. If they are running out of something, they will make a fresh batch for you, even at closing! So don't be afraid to ask.
If you are looking for something a little more health-conscious, head to Poke Don in the same plaza, because Orient isn't going to be the place for you. The food is on the greasy and heavy side, but I guess you could say that's what makes it so good.
I haven't been to Panda Express in years - all thanks to Orient!
